EPIC Signature, or How Put a Smartphone Inside a Watch

In the past two years we have seen how the so-called Smart Watches they have been doing their appearance on the market, with models that work, mainly as complements of our mobile phones. While there are brands that are committed to a smartwatch with communications capabilities independent of the phone, as the Samsung Gear S and 3G system, most do not have connectivity to the Internet or to networks of operators.

But, according to Timelesstablets,it is not possible to give one of these watches from all the functions of a mobile phone? In Epic seems to they have become this question and have decided to reinvent the Smartphone format of wrist with its EPIC Signature Edition (they also have a model to hang from the neck to the same specifications called Mini Epic).

Basically we have a watch with round outer shape, finished in steel inside which has been inserted all the digital technology of a low-end smartphone. The device is equipped with a 1.3 MP camera, support for up to 32 GB microSD cards, connectivity WiFi, Bluetooth and GSM bands 900 / 1800 MHz, GPS tracking and OS Java OS.

To be able to make and receive calls there to insert a SIM card inside and handle small LCD two inch touchscreen with 320 x 240 pixels of resolution. Precisely, I think that this is one of the weak points of the device, since it doesn’t like me that watch is round and square screen. I don’t know, I finished “fit”.

As for the rest of features (missing about the processor and memory), pointing out that it is capable of recording videos and photos, play music and has a 500 mAh battery Rechargeable via micro-USB and that gives it a range of up to 74 hours. Is the price? Because it is still an open question, since Epic is still in search of funding on Indiegogo stage.
